As Park Historian at Antietam National Battlefield, author of The Burning of Chambersburg, and a resident of Franklin County, I have spent the majority of my adult life immersed in the history of this region. Franklin County is a trove of historical treasures, beginning with colonial frontier history and moving through the community's Civil War story of the Underground Railroad, Gettysburg Campaign, the Burning of Chambersburg, and more.
